economic impact

Poultry and eggs traditionally rank in the top three of Oklahoma’s most valuable commodities. In previous years, poultry and eggs ranked second in Oklahoma and 19th nationally, with cash receipts of $453 million.

And don’t forget the impact on restaurants and grocery stores. In the Tulsa metro area alone, consumers purchase about 74 million pounds of poultry products a year. And that figure continues to rise.

In all, it is estimated that the poultry industry contributes about $3 billion to the Oklahoma economy.
